Have you ever wondered how the concept of divine granting (Wahb) works in the Qur’an?
It is always associated with great and unique requests, as in the supplication of Prophet Solomon:
“He said, ‘My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower.’”
Why is the term “grant” (Wahb) used here, together with the Name of Allah “Al-Wahhab” (The Bestower)?
It is also associated with offspring—the descendants who come from you—which is something deeply personal and unique, as in the supplication of Prophet Zechariah, to whom Allah responded:
“He said, ‘My Lord, grant me from Yourself a righteous offspring.’”
There is therefore a profound secret behind this great concept, which is connected to one of the Most Beautiful Names of Allah, Al-Wahhab (The Bestower).
